To use your own images on xat, you will need to upload to a trusted host. Once uploaded, you will need to use the Direct Link in order for the image to appear on your profile, or as your avatar.

xat has restricted the different image hosting sites that it allows. This is done to restrict inappropriate material. As of now, the only image hosting sites that are allowed are Cubeupload, ImgBB, Imgyukle, xat Images.

If you want to request for another image host to be unblocked, you may do so by opening a ticket under the department of "Domain Unblock" at xat.com/ticket.

To upload to ImgBB, click "Start Uploading" and choose your image. Click the image preview to edit or resize your image. Then, click "Upload". Once your image has been uploaded, click the image preview and then, when the image appears on the next screen, right click it and click "Copy image address".

To upload to Imgyukle, click "Start Uploading" and choose your image. Click the image preview to edit or resize your image. Then, click "Upload". Copy the "Image URL" link below the image preview.

Uploading to xat Images

To upload to xat Images, click "Click here to select a file" and choose your image. The image will be automatically uploaded. After that, copy the "Direct Link" URL that will be displayed after the upload is successful. If you're registered on xat Images, you can view and manage all your uploaded images in the "Gallery".

xat Avatars

Paste the direct link of your avatar into the box labeled "Avatar"

xat has a list of 1758 pictures that you can use as an avatar. You can find the complete list on the default avatars article.

Using a Direct Link as a xat Avatar

To use a Direct Link as a xat avatar, copy the direct link and paste it into the avatar box.

To edit your backgrounds, go to the Edit Group page, type your group's name and password, then click "login".

For the inner background, paste the Direct Link of the inner background into the "Background" box right under "chat". For the outer background, paste the Direct Link of the outer background into the "Background" box right under "group". Once it's done, you can press "save" and then "preview" to see how it will look like without having to wait.

Note: You can also use the color picker to choose a color to serve as a background.

Here is a list of standard sizes that are used to customize your chat and other features.

  • Pstyle's background: There are no official dimensions, but for better sizing, use the aspect ratio 3.8:1.
