Matchban

From xat wiki

Currently, this power has ongoing issues documented within the bug tracker.

Matchban allows you to ban a user so that they are required to complete a matching themed mini-game to become unbanned.

The objective of Matchban is for the banned user to match three or more smilies in a row, horizontally or vertically, in order to launch a rocket into space. The more smilies you match, the higher the rocket goes!

The amount of smilies you are required to match depends on how long of a matchban you received.

How to use Matchban

Click on the user you want to matchban, click "Ban", enter a duration and an optional reason, and press "matchBan".

Note: The maximum duration that you are able to matchban a user is 100 hours.

Due to how long matchbans take, it is not advisable to attempt to complete a matchban that is over 60 hours. This is due to the fact that long matchbans usually result in errors that render the puzzle impossible to complete.

It is also possible to use the Rapid power to matchban users.

Example: $rapid=matchban,6 will matchban the user you rapid for 6 hours. Visit Rapid for more information.

Spectator Mode

Spectator mode allows you to view the progress of a user completing a matchban.

To use this mode, you need to assign matchban to your chat. When a user is matchbanned, a brown square (with a matchban smiley) will appear in front of their name. If you click on it, an application will open on the left of the page, which will allow you to view their game.

High Scores Table

If you have the Matchban power assigned to your chat, you can see the high scores of everyone who has been matchbanned in your chat.

To create this table, click on "edit" below your chat, enter your chat password, and create a new tab under your chat. Then, paste $$matchban,a,b,c,d$$ onto your new tab and click on "Save changes".

  • a is the specific duration of matchban that you want to make a table for (maximum is 100)
  • b is the minimum score that you want to look for
  • c is the maximum score that you want to look for
  • d is the amount of days you want to look back on (maximum is 30)

Example: $$matchban,15,1,50,20$$ would find and rank any scores for 15 hour matchbans that fell between 1 and 50 seconds, and were completed in the last 20 days.

Other information

When completing a matchban, you can change the game background by pressing the "B" key.
