(MOBILEBETA) - Mobile beta test

The current Android beta version is 1.5.8. Download it HERE.

You can participate in xat's open beta program for the Android application. The MOBILEBETA power is not required to participate. The application is still in beta stages, meaning it is under development and there are no guarantees that the software will work on your device.

If you find a new bug you can report it on the forum. Please report security issues to one of the Volunteers, either by making a ticket or by contacting a volunteer directly.

Installation

By default, your Android operating system will not allow the direct download of programs that are not from Google Play, as this can be insecure. You have the option to override this setting—temporarily if you decide—to download the mobile beta application directly from xat's servers.

1. On your phone, go to Settings > Security. Tap the option to allow installation of applications from unknown sources. Do this before you download the mobile application from xat.
2. Navigate to the direct download link (posted at the top of this article) on your mobile browser.
3. Upon tapping the link to download, the application should be installed automatically. If not, find your downloads folder and install it.
